The Northwest Native Americans have some of the richest imagery in the continent. This piece is about 15 inches high. I found this piece of wood and am not sure what it is, perhaps it is oak. Many masks are identified by a single characteristic. The defining characteristic that indicates this is a hawk is that the beak curves down and touches the lips.
